Ames Acquires Ferro Metal Powders Divison



For Immediate Release Ames Goldsmith Corporation announced today that it has acquired the precious metals-based powder and flake product lines of Ferro Corporation’s Metal Powders business units in North America and Asia, through its newly formed Ames Advanced Materials Corporation. The transaction includes manufacturing assets and inventory in South Plainfield, New Jersey as well as in Tsukuba, Japan. Ferro Corporation ( is a leading global supplier of technology-based performance materials and chemicals for manufacturers. Ferro products are sold into the building and construction, automotive, appliances, electronics, household furnishings, and industrial products markets. Headquartered in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, the Company has approximately 4,380 employees globally and reported 2012 sales of $1.8 billion.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY—October 31, 2013—

In addition to the asset sale transaction, Ames and Ferro also entered into a multi-year supply agreement.
